San Antonio Pilgrims Ready for Departure to Australia

Bishop Cantú blesses ASA PilgrimsAfter years of fundraising, hard work and preparation, WYD 2008 is finally so close that we can taste it.

Many thanks to all who contributed to the beautiful Despedida celebration at Holy Spirit parish, Sunday, June 29. The Mass was filled with amazing music provided by David Kauffman and youth musicians. Presiding over the Mass was newly elected Bishop Oscar Cantú who we are very excited to have as a pilgrim this year.

After Mass we had the opportunity to become more acquainted with Bishop Cantú and he with us as we shared our expectations and reasons for making the choice to take part in this WYD pilgrimage.
All of the final preparations are taking place and, for the most part we are ready to make our way to Australia.
We will fly out in four groups and the first flight leaves on Saturday, July 5th. Please pray for a safe journey, there and back, for all attending WYD Sydney.
Also, watch out for future blogs from Bishop Cantú and I.  The next one will probably be from down under.
