World Youth Day, Sydney 2008

We are in Australia!!!

with 3 comments

Three of the four groups have safely arrived in Australia today!!! Yay! We are still separated but we will all unite in Sydney on the 14th of July. It has been a very long day but also wonderful as the people here in Melbourne are as kind as those in New Zealand.

As the days go by, we are getting used to using the metric system and reading the temperature in celcius. I also seem to be detecting a bit of the Australian accent rubbing off on some of our local pilgrims.

It is very cold over here. I believe it was about 3 degrees celcius this morning, but the weather has been nice and sunny so far.

Many thanks to all of your comments and for keeping updated on our pilgrimage. Please know that we are doing great, we are praying for you and also enjoying the company of our wonderful brothers and sisters in Christ “down under.” We are definitely watching out for anyone from Texas and are feeling great as more and more people arrive to Australia for WYD.

As always, keep watching for future blogs.

  2. Thank you for the blog. You are the tiip of the “youth iceberg.” You will feel the “invisilbe” part of the berg that will gather in the Plaza on July 19. I rejoice with all of you. Greetings to Holy Rosary’s Youth Minister, Debi Garza.
