Enjoying New Zealand

with one comment

The Mass, as Bishop Cantú mentioned, was celebrated at the local regional park. You can see how beautiful it was in the picture included. It was a great day for all of these outdoor events. It was also a great sight to see the San Antonians (including Bishop Cantú) and locals of Waiuku playing a game of rugby and although the weather is quite cold over here, we also managed to make a trip to the beach today.

At this time we are preparing dinner for a multicultural potluck dinner we will be celebrating at St. Anthony’s hall followed by a cultural evening sharing dance and music.

Two more of the four San Antonio groups will be departing on July 8. Please continue to pray for all those traveling.

For all family members and friends reading these blogs, please know that we are praying for you and we love you very much. As always, please watch out for future postings.

The first group has arrived!

After nearly 30 hours of being in airports and airplanes, the first group of 18 pilgrims, including Bishop Cantú have arrived to New Zealand.

We arrived at 5 am on July 7 in the small town of Waiuku which is where we will be staying for the next five days. (New Zealand is 17 hours ahead of Texas) We received a warm traditional welcome from parishioners of St. Anthony here in Waiuku, followed by a delicious breakfast, and have now been divided into our host families.

New Zealand is extremely beautiful, filled with green pastures and tall trees, and everyone is extremely kind.

Thank you for your prayers. Please continue to pray for future departing groups and keep watching for more details on what our daily activities consist of here in New Zealand.
